The 27th Annual Insurance Golf Day

The 27th Annual Insurance Golf Day

Total Objects have once again demonstrated that they know how to host a stylish, fun, and exciting event. This year’s Insurance Charity Golf Day was a roaring success, and the only question on everyone’s lips is: where can I get tickets for the next one?

Held at the picturesque Stoke by Nayland Hotel, the golf day has become a staple of the London insurance market calendar. This year’s event was a day of good weather, great golf, and even better company.

Over 100 specialists from across the London insurance market competed for individual and team honours. Prizes included the Kevin Collins Memorial Trophy, which was introduced in memory of the Total Objects Deputy Chairman who passed away in 2014.

Total Objects are thrilled to announce that the golf day raised a substantial amount for Cancer Research UK. The charity has been a partner of the event for many years and we hope that the money raised will help them continue their mission to beat cancer.

Although it was a relaxed and enjoyable day, there was all to play for. The range of prizes on offer included a Jaguar F-Type kindly provided by Marshall Jaguar Ipswich, which could only be won by sinking a hole-in-one on the 18th. Unfortunately, despite some agonisingly close misses, the car was still there at the end of the day. It’s the taking part that counts, better luck next year everyone!

The GliderFX team – who guests will remember for their jaw dropping aerial displays at previous golf days – made their return this year. This time, however, they kept their feet firmly on the ground while the guests did the flying. Sitting in the cockpit of the GliderFX Fox parked on the hotel’s lawn, a VR headset transported attendees to the skies above Dubai. They were treated to a 360° view of the palm islands as daredevil sky divers leapt from the plane before their very eyes. Guests also got the opportunity to be on the other side of the camera, as 360° images were taken of the day’s events and will soon be available online.

All pictures from the event can be seen in the ‘2016’ photo album, where they can be downloaded for corporate and personal use. Please credit Total Objects if they are used in external PR or Marketing articles.

Total Objects would like to thank everyone who attended the 27th Annual Insurance Charity Golf Day and all the organisations that made it possible. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2017.

Advance International Support Cancer Research UK at 26th Insurance Market Charity Golf day

Advance International provide sponsorship at 26th Annual Insurance Market Charity Golf day, and have sponsored ‘Glider FX’ as event centrepiece.

For the second year running Advance International have provided corporate sponsorship at the Annual Insurance Market Charity Golf day. This year, Advance sponsored the showcase 18th hole providing a unique opportunity to promote the brand to over 100 specialists from the London insurance industry, who were all competing on the Championship Stoke-by-Nayland course.

However, a difference for this year’s event was the iconic ‘Glider FX’- sponsored by Advance being placed at the front of the clubhouse for all the participants to get up close to. Even more impressive was the spectacle after dark, as Advance’s LED technology was showcased via a stunning visual display as the Glider was lit up in a variety of different colours, which certainly attracted a lot of interest.

Sponsorship of the golf day provides yet another avenue for Advance International to support a charitable cause, this particular event is in aid of Cancer Research UK and in the 26 years since its inception, it has helped raise over £250,000. In this time Cancer Research UK have seen 10 year survival rates for people diagnosed with Cancer rise to 50%, and events such as the golf day will only continue to help them ‘Beat Cancer Sooner’.

Total Objects mark 26th Insurance Market Charity Golf day in Spectacular Style.

London, 20 August 2015 - Aerobatics, luxury cars, over £12,000 raised for Cancer Research UK and some great golf at an iconic venue provided the perfect cocktail to mark the 26th Annual Insurance Market Charity Golf day in style.

This year’s event, held at the prestigious Stoke by Nayland Golf, Hotel and Spa resort since its inception, once again proved to be the perfect venue for a day of fundraising, golf and incredible attractions all in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Last year saw the fundraising total for this event break through the £250,000 barrier, and this money has helped support the fantastic results that Cancer Research UK has achieved in those 26 years, with 10 year survival rates now doubling to 2 in 4.

Over 100 players, who were all specialists from across the London Insurance Market, competed for individual and team honours, including the Kevin Collins Memorial Trophy, which was introduced in memory of Total Objects’ Deputy Chairman who passed away in 2014.

With the players all gearing up for a long day of golf, by practicing on the ‘BinderCloud Putting Green’, the mist slowly cleared to give way to sunshine, which brought out all the stunning features of this Championship standard course. Those who attended the event in 2014 will remember the brilliant Guy Westgate and the aerobatic Glider FX and AeroSPARX teams, which once again graced the Suffolk skyline at lunchtime to provide a spectacular backdrop to a competitive morning on the course.

A plethora of prizes were up for grabs throughout the course, including the always popular ‘Gambling Hole’ (this year kindly sponsored by Advance International). 2015 saw the introduction of new award for sinking a ‘hole-in-one’ on the 18th, a brand new Jaguar XF- kindly provided by Marshall Jaguar Ipswich. As the afternoon wore on, Charlie Rock from Total Objects was the closest to pin, agonizingly coming just a few feet from driving away in a new motor!

Also new for 2015, was the support from ‘Skico Imaging’ who provided a state-of-the-art camera drone, which helped cover the event from every angle and offered an exciting new perspective with which the golf and all the attractions on the day, can be viewed.

The usual format of the Texas Scramble Team Competition and the Stableford Individual Challenge was applied, and it was Team Guy Carpenter who came out on top in the Team Competition with a score of 55.7 and Rob Hadgraft of the Lloyd’s Market Association team who triumphed in the individual challenge with 42 points to become the 2nd recipient of The Kevin Collins Memorial Trophy. The winners of the ‘Just Giving - Prize Giveaway’ from 2014 were also announced, with the winners all being contacted directly by Total Objects.

The presentations were concluded and we heard from Ben Gee, Fundraising Manager for The City of London at Cancer Research UK, who explained how the money raised would help fund their continuing research into the disease and how events such as the golf day are bringing the day a cure is found for Cancer, ever closer.

Jim Barry, Managing Director, Total Objects, also commented: ‘‘2015 marks Total Objects’ fourth year of sponsoring this special industry event, and to watch it develop over the past four years has been very encouraging.
However even more impressive has been the progress made by Cancer Research UK since the golf day was set up 26 years ago. We would like to thank all the companies who have helped support this year’s event, whether it be by allowing staff to attend or by sponsoring a hole, with all funds raised going towards helping Cancer Research UK ‘Beat Cancer Sooner’. Credit must also go to Paul Sandfield and the Golf committee at the ‘City of London Friends of Cancer Research’ group who have organised this event since its foundation. We hope to see everyone again next year for another memorable day’’.

However the day’s activities didn’t finish there, as Guy and Glider FX and AeroSPARX team came back to entertain the watching crowds with an ‘Evening Spectacular’ of aerobatic loops, twists and shooting pyrotechnics into the sky giving a display that provided a fitting end to another spectacular Annual Insurance Market Charity Golf day.

All of the day’s action can be viewed in the 2015 gallery where pictures can be downloaded for corporate or personal use. (Please credit Total Objects if these are used in external PR or Marketing articles). We look forward to the 2016 event and continuing to build a stronger partnership between the Insurance Industry and Cancer Research UK.

Client Testimonials

"The fact that so many teams and individuals of varying abilities came out to support the event goes a long way to illustrating how many good souls there are in our industry. So far we have all raised £12,500 for Cancer Research UK and we are hoping that we will continue to put money in the coffers of a charity that is close to our hearts.”
